now a rebel and starting from scratch

art 101 we drew our hand without looking at the paper. these are the ones i decided looked the coolest out of the pages and pages of new print. before i switched into Marc dombrosky's class.

the ink still life Marc set up for us, then told us to zoom into places around the room. i have a thing for hands....

the first fae rae ferris and olivia colaboration. we sat next to eachother she held a piece of charcoal above her upper lip... and then we discussed our love for mustaches. marc gave us limitations to creating our own still lifes, skulls with brush and corn mustaches seemed epic.

our second colaboration. again marc gave us free rein we came up with a tragic accident of somewoman chopping off her own arm and hand with her ice skate. accidental or purposefully, you decide. the pincones were just a lovely twist. eventually fae rae became bored and thought of revenge of the pinecones....

creating this angry pinecone being thrusted forward by a floating hand.

one day i was absent the next we did perspective drawings. like hallways, doors and shit. well fae rae became bored of the classic perspective and thumbnailed some rocks. personally i'm not a huge fan of either thumbnails or perspective drawing, so the rocks were perfect for me.

collageing is one of my favorite things to do. so when we were assigned to do one i was uber excited, but things didn't turn out eactly as i wanted them too. but this is fae rae ink charcoal collage, minus glasses. i never draw her with glasses.

fae rae ferris as my subject, she made james. hers was by far the best. james inturn made an experiment with charcoal and watered down ink, forcing the ink to travel downward into a drawn cup. which inspired me to make fae rae with a lonely teardrop.

james loves the boarder.

everytime i drew james he looked like a fairy with googlie eyes. this one the eyes are pretty normal sized but i think james just needs to deal with the fact that i enjoy enlarging his eyes. this is ink james.

like jame i love the ink dripping. the splotches and appearence of textureis neat. this is something i'd really like to explore further.

okay, i totally dispise thumbnails but marc loves them so i decided to incorporate them into my final portfolio by collaging them onto eachother. the painted paper is actually thumbnails that i used in design (art 107) to paint ontop of. HA! but it turned out kinda neat.

this is the first time we used ink, marc is notorious for not being able to stay still while modeling but it makes for an interesting session. with poses titled as swampthing, say anything, and braveheart you can never lose.

these are now on my wall. i enjoy abstract things and i kind of look to thses for inspiration in exploration in this area.

out of highschool, no college art courses yet

out of highschool i work as a sushi cheft at sushi bar sage. i think i put painting on hold becasue i was creating art at work. i really wish i had photos of my work, i know they are out there somehwere because customers loved taking pictures of the caterpillar, spider, and dragon roll.
any who, once i was let go from my job and recieved my unemployment money i bought a shit load of art supplies and decided to paint a naked woman.

my original plan was to be a tribute to the band YEAH YEAH YEAHS, but the body form didn't come out as i'd envisioned it so i switched it up. this isn't a finished work yet... i just can't decide what to do with it. this is the first work where i've had no direction, and now i understand why some poeple take years deciding what they'll do with a painting.

Highschool painting class

while messing with my lamp to avoid the shine i discovered this could be photographed clearest in the mirror.

i was disqualified from a competition becasue i didn't draw everything on the page. i wasn't aware the a collage wasn't a form of art, but apparently in highschool it doesn't count or something...... no, i'm not bitter.

this project is what made me fall in love with using tissue paper.
we experimented with different techniques and textures.

this class and my teacher Mrs. Casper is what made me fall in love with art.
oh plus Mrs.Ward in cermaics. i wasn't able to take photos of my work....but it'll be on this eventually.
